I'm only up to chapter 5 and already-- it's like you can just feel it, that this is at least a step higher in quality than everything else I've read in the past few weeks. Thanks for giving me the extra push to finally check this out!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1133568317365346510.post-64445442554549254322011-02-20T00:12:48.694-08:002011-02-20T00:12:48.694-08:00My interest in Lamplighter (Monster Blood 2) is be...My interest in Lamplighter (Monster Blood 2) is beginning to flag: it's starting to suffer from lets-describe-everything-that-happens-to-our-hero and let's-describe-the-setting-in-ridiculous-detail-because-it's-so-atmospheric -itis. I'm still liking the character and the world, and there's lots of intriguing mysteries being hinted at, but I could do with some straight-up plot. I find myself eyeing the thinner books I got from the library.Kim Aippersbachhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02556947405633680410noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1133568317365346510.post-81709825981196692962011-02-18T12:04:02.886-08:002011-02-18T12:04:02.886-08:00Yep, I enjoyed Finnikin. Soooooooo much to read... which is why I have such trouble picking up long books....Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1133568317365346510.post-58640919750746885582011-02-16T18:01:12.886-08:002011-02-16T18:01:12.886-08:00It is long, especially for a middle-grade novel--b...It is long, especially for a middle-grade novel--but I actually thought it was deep and complex enough to be adult fantasy. And it was stay-up-way-past-my-bedtime compelling. Now that I think of it, it's a lot like Finnikin of the Rock. Have you read that one?

Speaking of daunting length, I've now started book 2 of Monster Blood Tattoo.Kim Aippersbachhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02556947405633680410noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1133568317365346510.post-30636596539966985892011-02-16T14:55:35.149-08:002011-02-16T14:55:35.149-08:00I've been avoiding because of length, but keep...I've been avoiding because of length, but keep being tempted...
