Patrick Ness to write Dr. Who spin off series

Just noticed this recent news. Um . . . Patrick Ness and the Whoniverse? I'm as excited as I was about the Neil Gaimon episodes! Apparently Steven Moffat thinks Ness is good at documenting "the dark and exhilarating world of the teenager." Moffat got that right!

It's set in Coal Hill School, which has been part of Dr. Who from the beginning. Based on Moffat's teenager comment and the reference to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I'm guessing that it will be about the students of the school facing various alien-y threats. I wonder if Courtney Woods will be in it. Remember: the "disruptive influence"? I quite liked her.
